Just kidding, we really do appreciate the rain because as you know, Texas weather can be brutal this time of the year. The recent rains have brought cooler temperatures to the area and we can be comfortable knowing our lakes will have plenty of water to play in all summer long!
The tough part for us is deciding when to open or close when rain is predicted. We’ve had a few instances where people have shown up and there was not a drop within miles of the lake. First off, we want to offer an apology those of you that faced this situation. We know it can be frustrating to get all geared up and ready for some fun in the water only to be greeted with a locked up gate. While we do our best to monitor the weather, it can be very unpredictable and a large thunderstorm can easily fall apart within minutes. In some cases, we thought it was okay to stay open and ended up having to call customers back in because of lightning, high winds and heavy downpours. At the end of the day, your safety is our priority and we hope you can understand when we do decide to close because of questionable weather.
